News items like this can be added by the site administrator. You can optionally set a start date upon which this event will start displaying. Leaving it blank sets it to start displaying immediately. You can also optionally set a stop date upon which the event will stop displaying. Leaving it blank sets it for no stop date so you can add permanent or unknown length items. Lastly, you can establish a sort order so the various events can be placed wherever you want.
